London woman arrested for impaired driving after argument
A 56-year-old London woman who drove off after an afternoon argument in a parking lot is facing an impaired driving charge.
Chatham-Kent police said they were called in shortly after 4 p.m. Tuesday for a domestic disturbance on Grand Avenue East in Chatham and learned that the woman had been arguing with a man in a parking lot before she took off.
Police said they were told the woman had been drinking alcohol before she left, so they went looking for her and found her vehicle about an hour later while it was heading east on Longwoods Road in Chatham Township.
The officer who pulled her over believed she had been driving under the influence of alcohol, so she was arrested and taken to police headquarters for breath tests.
She was charged with having a blood alcohol level over the legal limit and was later released with conditions and a future court date.
