Wallaceburg indoor pool getting a facelift

The Sydenham Pool in Wallaceburg is closing for renovations.

The municipality said the pool will be shutdown on July 31, 2023 and should reopen on September 8, 2023 after improvements to the men’s and women’s changerooms and the front desk area.

Manager of Recreation Services and Community Engagement Amy Wadsworth said members will not be charged during the closure, adding they can use the seven outdoor pools and the indoor pool in Blenheim that are providing free recreational swims all summer long.

“We are thrilled that our facility is receiving these much-needed upgrades,” said Wadsworth. “The renovations to the changerooms and front desk area will enhance the overall experience for our community members, and we look forward to welcoming them back once the work is complete.”

Swimming lessons at the Sydenham Pool will resume in the fall and will open for registration during the regular fall sign-up period, according to the municipality.

“We would like to express our gratitude to the community for their understanding and support during the renovation period,” said Wadsworth. “The improvements being made to the Wallaceburg Sydenham Pool will ensure that it continues to be a safe and enjoyable space for all residents.”
