Man Arrested for Mischief
A Chatham man has learned the hard way that if you're trying to hide from police, you shouldn't play with fire extinguishers.
Police have laid mischief charges against a 20-year-old man from Chatham after a disturbance Monday night at a multi-unit residential building on King Street East in Chatham.
Chatham-Kent police said they received information that people were causing a disturbance, which resulted in one person spraying the other with a fire extinguisher.
Officers also found the suspect was wanted for failing to comply with a release order in a separate investigation.
The suspect was charged with mischief and failing to comply with a release order.
Trio Arrested for Skipping Court, Breaching Conditions
Two women have been arrested for not fulfilling their court obligations.
One was arrested for failing to attend court, the other was arrested for breaching her court conditions.
Police in Chatham-Kent said a 30-year-old woman from Chatham, who was wanted on a warrant for failing to attend court, turned herself in at police headquarters Tuesday morning.
She was originally charged with theft and failing to comply with a release order.
Police added another woman, a 43-year-old Chatham woman, was arrested Monday afternoon and charged with two counts of failing to comply with a release order following a dispute between a man and a woman over a cell phone at a home on Lorne Avenue in Chatham.
The woman had court conditions not to communicate with the man and not to be at that address, according to police.
Police said a 51-year-old Cedar Springs man was also arrested and charged with facilitating the breach of a release order.
