Chatham woman arrested after argument takes a violent turn
A 58-year-old Chatham woman is charged with assault after an argument took a violent turn.
Police said they were called to investigate reports of an assault in the Park Avenue East area just before 4 p.m. on Wednesday.
Through investigation, police learned a verbal argument the night before escalated when the woman pushed and shoved the victim.
The 58-year-old Chatham woman was located and transported to police headquarters.
She was charged and later released with conditions and a future court date.
Wallaceburg woman arrested for public intoxication
A 39-year-old Wallaceburg woman spent some time sobering up in police custody after being located by police in the Murray Street area in Wallaceburg.
Police said they received a call about a woman reportedly walking into traffic on Murray Street around 6:40 p.m. Wednesday night.
Officers located the woman and found her to be intoxicated and unable to care for herself.
The 39-year-old woman was transported to police headquarters and held until sober.
Chatham man arrested for allegedly walking out of store without paying
A 33-year-old Chatham man has learned the hard way, that you can't leave a store without paying.
Police responded to a business on Pioneer Line at 7:49 p.m. Wednesday night to investigate a theft.
Officers learned the man removed two drills from the shell and left the store without paying.
The man was located on St. Clair Street and arrested.
He was charged with theft and possessing stolen property and released with a future court date.

Chatham-Kent police are appealing to the public for assistance in identifying a woman in the photo below suspected of theft.
Police said the incident occurred Thursday morning at the Superstore on St. Clair Street in Chatham.
