Damage is estimated at $350,000 after a fire at a home on Bloomfield Road.
Crews from Station 15 and 16, Raleigh North and South, were called to the two-story residential home just after 1 a.m. Sunday.
They arrived to find the structure fully involved, with flames coming from the first and second storey windows.
Chatham-Kent Fire and Rescue (CKFR) said everyone in the home at the time was able to get out safely.
The firefighters worked to keep the blaze from spreading to a nearby garage and vehicles.
Heavy equipment was eventually brought in to assist with the collapsing brick structure.
The cause of the fire is listed as accidental with an unattended candle getting the blame.
CKFR reminds residents it is safest to use flameless candles. If real candles are lit, blow them out when you leave the room or go to sleep, and use well-ventilated candle holders that are sturdy and will not tip over.
