If you have any ideas on what improvements can be made to the Wheatley Area Arena, municipal officials in Chatham-Kent want to hear from you.
In March, council voted for administration to come up with a plan to rejuvenate the aging facility to be more accessible, welcoming, and inspiring to Wheatley residents.
The arena is the only spot residents have to gather ever since the downtown explosion in August of 2021 closed the Wheatley Legion Hall and the Car Barn Hall.
In a previous report, Councillor Lauren Anderson said the goal is to improve the aesthetics and overall experience for patrons.
"The public may propose any project aimed at improving the accessibility, aesthetics, or overall experience for those visiting or using the facility," read a statement from the municipality. "Administration will consider proposed projects against available funding sources as they may become available in the future."
Residents will have until 4:30 p.m. on Wednesday, May 31 to submit their ideas through the Lets Talk Chatham-Kent website.
Submissions will be included in a report presented to municipal council.
