Four alleged drug dealers busted in Wallaceburg

Four Wallaceburg residents in their 30s and 40s are facing drug trafficking charges after Chatham-Kent police searched a residence in Wallaceburg Tuesday night.

Police said members of the CK Police Intelligence Section teamed up with the Critical Incident Response Team for the search, adding that they allegedly seized some suspected methamphetamine, fentanyl, MDMA, and cocaine from the scene.

Officers also reported finding a digital scale, a debt list, cell phones, cash, and a black BB handgun.

A 43-year-old Wallaceburg man, a 44-year-old Wallaceburg man, a 38-year-old Wallaceburg woman, and a 30-year-old Wallaceburg man were all arrested and charged with four counts of drug possession for the purpose of trafficking.

The 43-year-old man and the 30-year-old man were also charged with three counts of possession of a weapon contrary to an order while the 30-year-old man was charged with one count of that same offence.

All three of them were released with a future court date.

The 38-year-old woman was additionally charged with failing to comply with her release conditions and she was also arrested on an outstanding warrant.

The woman was set to be held in custody pending a bail hearing.

Chatham man arrested after domestic disturbance

A 20-year-old Chatham man has another date with the courts after he allegedly breached his release conditions by contacting a specific woman in Chatham this week.

Police said they arrested the man Tuesday morning after they were called to a disturbance at a residence in Chatham.

He was charged and later released with a future court date.

Wanted man accused of shoplifting in Chatham

A 52-year-old Chatham man who was already wanted by police is facing more charges after he allegedly tried to get a five-finger discount from two local stores.

Police said he was arrested Tuesday afternoon after officers were called to respond to a shoplifting complaint at the Real Canadian Superstore on St. Clair Street in Chatham.

Officers said their investigation also showed that the man had allegedly stolen items from Mark's Work Warehouse and that he was wanted on outstanding warrants.

The accused was charged with two counts of theft and one count of possession of property obtained by crime and he was taken into custody pending a bail hearing.
