Three locals arrested after drug bust near Highgate

A drug bust in Chatham-Kent has landed three local people in handcuffs.

Several officers from Chatham-Kent police, the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP), and other police services searched a home on McDonald Line near Highgate on Tuesday and seized suspected methamphetamine, cocaine, and Dexedrine, according to the OPP. Police did not release the amount of drugs seized. Dexedrine is used to treat attention-deficit/hyperactivity disorder (ADHD).

Police also said they seized a quantity of property, including scales and ammunition.

A 63-year-old man from Orford, a 36-year-old man from Orford, and a 32-year-old woman from Rodney have all been charged with several drug and weapons charges, including possession and possession for the purpose of trafficking.
