The collision took place in the westbound lanes of the highway near Bloomfield Road.
A pair of photos of the scene sent to CK News Today showed a truck and trailer flipped over on its side right at the Bloomfield Rd. off-ramp.
The road was first closed just after 4 p.m. Thursday, but OPP said the road re-opened overnight.
Alan Smith will begin his new role with the municipality on July 20.
