St. Davids driver pulled over for speeding in Chatham-Kent 

A 21-year-old from St. Davids will have to answer to a stunt driving charge after getting pulled over in Chatham-Kent.

The driver was pulled over by OPP on Highway 401 this past Friday.

According to police, the driver was allegedly travelling 165 km/hr in a posted 100 km/he zone.

The driver's licence was suspended for 30 days and the vehicle was impounded for 14 days.

A prohibited driver misses stop sign, gets pulled over in Chatham

Not stopping at a stop sign has landed a Chatham man in trouble with provincial police.

Police say a vehicle missed a stop sign as it was pulling off Highway 401 at Communication Road Friday afternoon.

The driver, a 48-year-old from Chatham, is now charged with driving while prohibited under the criminal code and disobeying a stop sign.

The vehicle has also been impounded for 45 days.

The 48-year-old will have to face the charges in court in April.

Leamington driver charged following collision on Highway 401 in Chatham-Kent

A 20-year-old Leamington resident has been charged after crashing their car in the eastbound lane on  Highway 401 in Chatham.

OPP responded to the single-vehicle collision at around 4:21 a.m. on Sunday.

The driver was assessed by paramedics near the scene who determined the driver had non-life-threatening injuries.

Police said the driver had consumed alcohol prior to the collision and conducted a roadside test.

The 20-year-old was charged with careless driving, being a novice driver with a blood alcohol level above zero, and failing to surrender an insurance card.

Brampton driver caught using a cell phone while driving past collision on Highway 401

A 30-year-old Brampton man will have to answer to a distracted driving charge after getting pulled over by OPP in Chatham-Kent.

According to police, the driver was observed using his cell phone while driving past emergency vehicles and crews at the scene of a collision on the eastbound side of Highway 401.

The driver was pulled over and charged.

Four people hurt after a passenger vehicle collided with a transport truck in Chatham-Kent

A 41-year-old Windsor driver has been charged with careless driving after causing an accident in the westbound lanes of Highway 401 in Chatham-Kent.

Police said they were called to the crash around 12:27 p.m. on Monday.

The passenger vehicle was occupied by four people who were all taken to a local hospital and treated for non-life-threatening injuries.

The driver of the transport truck was not injured.
