Laptops, iPads targeted during school break-in

Chatham-Kent police are appealing to the public for tips after someone broke into A.A. Wright Public School in Wallaceburg over the holiday weekend and stole approximately $9,000 worth of electronics.

Police said they were notified of the break-in on Monday, adding that whoever broke in, took off with nine MacBook laptops and nine iPads.

The stolen goods are valued at approximately $9,000.

Wanted man nabbed during traffic stop in Chatham

A traffic stop on the holiday Monday led Chatham-Kent police to a 28-year-old man who was wanted for uttering threats and mischief.

Police said they pulled the vehicle over just before 8:30 p.m. Monday and learned that the driver was not only suspended from driving, he was also wanted on an outstanding warrant.

The man was arrested and taken to police headquarters, then later released with conditions and a future court date.

Two arrests on warrants

The law came calling for two more people on Monday who were also wanted on outstanding warrants.

CK police said an officer on general patrol at around 11 a.m. Monday arrested a 37-year-old man who was wanted for failing to attend court and failing to comply with an appearance notice.

He was taken back to police headquarters and was set to be held there pending a bail hearing.

Police also managed to catch up with a 36-year-old man who was wanted on a DNA warrant.

An officer allegedly spotted him just before noon on Monday on Mill Street West in Tilbury and arrested him.

He was taken to police headquarters for the DNA warrant and was later released from custody.
