Police release photos of break-in suspect

If you recognize the suspect pictured below, you're asked to contact Chatham-Kent police right away.

Investigators are appealing to the public for tips on the suspect's identity after a break-in at Chuck's Roadhouse Restaurant on Grand Avenue West in Chatham.

Police said the break-in took place early Monday morning, adding that Wimpy's Diner next door to Chuck's was also broken into.

Officers were able to obtain the images below in connection with the case.

Wanted man faces additional drug, domestic violence charges

A 40-year-old Blenheim man who was already wanted by police is finding himself in even more trouble after he breached more of his bail conditions over the weekend.

Chatham-Kent police said they found the man after they got a call for a domestic disturbance on McGeorge Street in Blenheim just before 11 a.m. Sunday.

Officers said when they arrived, they learned that the man had gone into a home there that he had been banned from attending and had kicked a hole in the wall.

Police said even before the incident, the man was wanted for violating his bail conditions.

When officers searched him, they reportedly found some suspected methamphetamine and fentanyl on him as well.

The accused was charged with one count of mischief, two counts each of failing to comply with his release conditions, and two counts of drug possession.

He was taken back to police headquarters and was set to be held there pending a bail hearing.

Chatham-Kent man arrested after daytime damage spree downtown

A 27-year-old Chatham-Kent man is facing a handful of mischief charges after allegedly breaking into a business in downtown Chatham and then damaging three vehicles nearby.

Chatham-Kent police said they were called to the scene of the break-in on King Street West just before 1 p.m. Sunday.

Their investigation showed that the man had broken the front windows of a business there and took some items out.

Police said after he left the store, the man threw some glass at a nearby vehicle, then jumped on the hood of a second vehicle, and was arrested while he was damaging a third vehicle.

The accused was arrested and charged with one count of break and enter and three counts of mischief.

He was taken back to police headquarters and was set to be held there pending a bail hearing.

Officer on general patrol spots two people wanted by police

Chatham-Kent police have caught with two more people who made their wanted list.

Police said a 49-year-old Tilbury man who was wanted for failing to comply with a probation order and a 30-year-old Chatham-Kent woman who was wanted for failing to attend court were both arrested at around 1:30 p.m. Sunday after officers on general patrol spotted them on Canal Street in Tilbury.

The Tilbury man was later released with a future court date while the Chatham-Kent woman taken into custody pending a bail hearing.

Intoxicated woman found yelling and screaming

A 32-year-old Chatham-Kent woman is spending some time sobering up in police custody after a rough start to the week.

CK police said they took the woman into custody just after 1:30 a.m. Monday after they got a call about a disturbance on Park Avenue in Chatham.

Police said when they arrived, they found the woman yelling and screaming.

Officers determined she was intoxicated and unable to care for herself, so she was taken into custody and was set to be released after she sobered up.
