Driver arrested after police find him hiding in a shed
A 49-year-old Tilbury man is facing a handful of charges after he allegedly tried to hide from police while they were trying to pull his vehicle over.
Chatham-Kent police said they first spotted the vehicle after someone called in a traffic complaint just before 4 p.m. Monday on Middle Line in Tilbury.
Officers were able to track it down and tried to initiate a traffic stop, but police said that started a bizarre chase.
Investigators said the driver tried to get away from police by driving backwards through a stop sign and then took off on foot, eventually hiding in a shed.
Police followed the man and arrested him when they caught up with him.
The accused was charged with impaired driving, dangerous driving, flight from police, break and enter, and resisting arrest.
He was later released with conditions and a future court date.
