A 31-year-old Wallaceburg man is facing charges after a daytime robbery at an ATM in Wallaceburg.
Chatham-Kent police said they received the call at around 2:40 p.m. Saturday.
Police were told that someone had been withdrawing cash from the TD Bank ATM on James Street in Wallaceburg when the suspect allegedly tried to take the victim's money as it was coming out of the machine.
Officers said that confrontation turned physical, resulting in both the suspect and the victim sustaining minor injuries.
The suspect then took off and the victim reported the incident to police.
Officers checked the scene for forensic evidence and got a physical description of the man.
They found him walking on Main Street in Wallaceburg at around 2:20 p.m. Sunday and when they were arresting him, he allegedly tried to get away from police.
The accused was taken into custody and charged with armed robbery and resisting arrest. He was later released with conditions and a future court date.
