Wanted women show up at police headquarters
Chatham-Kent police didn't have to go far to find a two women who were both on their wanted list.
Police said a 33-year-old Chatham woman who was wanted for failing to attend court turned herself in at police headquarters just before 8 a.m. Tuesday.
She was taken into custody and was set to be held there pending a bail hearing.
A second woman -- who was wanted for theft, mischief, and failing to comply with her probation -- also turned herself in Tuesday morning.
Police said the 28-year-old Chatham woman turned herself in at police headquarters just after 10 a.m. Tuesday. She was later released with conditions and a future court date.

Wallaceburg woman arrested for assault
Chatham-Kent police have caught up with a Wallaceburg woman who was wanted for assault.
Police said the woman was wanted on an outstanding warrant in connection with an incident that took place on December 20, 2022.
Officers picked her up on Grand Avenue West in Chatham just before 9 a.m. Tuesday.
She was arrested, charged, and later released with a future court date.

Police find wanted man during call to Chatham address
Chatham-Kent police crossed another name off of their wanted list Tuesday evening when they found a man accused of skipping his court date while they were responding to a separate call.
Police said officers who showed up at an address on Delaware Avenue in Chatham just before 8:30 p.m. Tuesday to stand by and keep the peace also found a 36-year-old Chatham man who was wanted on an outstanding warrant for failing to show up for court.
The man was arrested and taken back to police headquarters.
He was later released with conditions and a future court date.

Man accused of assaulting woman during domestic argument
A 32-year-old Chatham man spent the night in police custody after he allegedly wrapped his arm around a woman's neck during a domestic dispute late Tuesday night.
Police said they were called to the scene on Campus Parkway just after 11 p.m., adding that their investigation showed a verbal argument had escalated to the point where the man allegedly restricted the woman's breathing by assaulting her.
The man was arrested, charged with assault, and taken back to police headquarters where he was set to be held pending a bail hearing.
