Call about vehicle in the ditch ends with impaired driving charge

A 34-year-old Windsor man is facing an impaired driving charge after allegedly crashing a vehicle into a ditch on Bear Line Road just outside of Chatham.

Police said they were called to the scene in Dover Township at 9:18 p.m. Monday and believed the driver was impaired, so they arrested him and took him back to police headquarters for breath tests.

He was charged with having a blood alcohol concentration over the legal limit and was later released with conditions and a future court date.

Wallaceburg woman arrested for drug possession

A call about some suspicious activity in Wallaceburg late Monday night ended with an arrest for public intoxication.

Police said they got the call just before 11:15 p.m. Monday and found an intoxicated woman in Glen Mickle Park.

Officers said they also allegedly found a suspected controlled substance in her possession.

She was arrested and charged with drug possession and was later released with a future court date.

Man arrested for unlawful visit

A 30-year-old Chatham-Kent man is back in police custody after he allegedly got into an argument with some family members on Wallace Street in Wallaceburg.

Police said the man was bound by two release orders to stay away from a specific address, but that same address is where officers found him just after 12:30 a.m. Tuesday.

Police said they arrested the man while they were responding to a call about a family dispute during which the man was allegedly "intoxicated and aggressive" with other family members.

He was charged with failing to comply with a release order and was taken back to police headquarters where he was set to be held pending a bail hearing.
