As we celebrate the holiday season with family and friends, there are many closures to take note of across Chatham-Kent.

On Christmas Eve Saturday, most businesses will be closing early if they are not already, and the vast majority of places will be closed on Sunday, Christmas Day.

Municipal offices and most services will be closed from December 25 to December 28, as well as January 1 and 2, 2023. They will be back to regularly scheduled hours on December 29 and 30.

For anyone using public transportation, Ride CK service will not be operating on December 25, 26, and January 1.

Curbside garbage and recycling will be delayed by one day for the week of December 26th. There are no curbside collection changes for the week of January 2, 2023.

Meanwhile, municipal leaf and yard depots are closed on Christmas Day and New Year’s Day. The Chatham and Romney Locations are open on December 27 and January 3. Christmas trees will be accepted free of charge at all leaf and yard depots.

As always, emergency services will be available 24 hours a day, seven days a week. However, The municipal fire administration office will be closed from December 26 until December 28, then again on January 2.

CK Public Health offices will be closed December 26-28 and January 2. Essential after-hours Public Health services are available by calling 1-866-446-8207.
