Woman climbs ladder to enter vacant apartment unit
A 25-year-old Chatham-Kent woman is facing charges after she allegedly climbed up a ladder to get into a vacant apartment unit.
Chatham-Kent police said they also found some suspected fentanyl in her possession after they arrested her.
Officers said they got the call just after 10 a.m. Thursday for a break and enter on Murray Street.
Their investigation showed that the woman had placed a ladder at the side of the apartment building to gain access to an empty unit on a higher floor and that's where police say they found her.
After she was arrested and charged with breaking and entering and drug possession, she was released with conditions and a future court date.

Tip about suspicious activity leads police to wanted man
A 31-year-old Wallaceburg man who was wanted for breaching his curfew while he was on probation is in more trouble with the law.
Police said they arrested him just after 1:15 p.m. Thursday after getting a call about some suspicious activity on Elgin Street in Wallaceburg.
Officers found the man in the area and took him into custody. He was set to be held there pending a bail hearing.

Man charged after domestic assault
A 25-year-old Toronto man is facing a handful of charges after he allegedly assaulted a woman during an argument at a building on Fifth Street in Chatham.
Police said they arrested the man after receiving a call about a domestic disturbance just before midnight Thursday night.
Officers said when they arrived at the building, they saw a man who was leaving and asked him to confirm his identity, but he didn't cooperate with police.
Investigators said they learned that the man allegedly assaulted a woman by pinning her to the floor and hurting her face and her head during an argument.
The man was arrested and charged with two counts of assault causing bodily harm and one count each of assault and obstructing a police officer.
He was taken to police headquarters and was set to be held there pending a bail hearing.

Chatham man found breaching house arrest
A 34-year-old Chatham man who was supposed to stay at home is facing charges after police say they found him somewhere else.
Officers said even though the man had been placed under house arrest, they found him at an address that wasn't included in his release order after getting a tip just after 7 p.m. Thursday that he was violating his release conditions.
The man was arrested and taken back to police headquarters. He was set to be held there pending a bail hearing.
