Blenheim man accused of breaching bail with phone call
A 26-year-old Blenheim man is learning the hard way that no communication means no phone calls.
Chatham-Kent police said the man was released on December 4 with a condition that required him to stop communicating with a specific woman.
He allegedly broke that condition when called her shortly after 6 a.m. on Monday.
When police found out about the phone call, they arrested the man and charged him with failing to comply. He was later released with a future court date.

A 32-year-old Chatham-Kent man who was already wanted by police for failing to show up for his court date is facing even more charges now after officers allegedly found some illegal drugs on him.
Police said they found the man while they were following up on a tip about some suspicious activity on King Street West in Chatham just before 8:30 a.m. Monday.
Officers said when they learned that the man was wanted on outstanding warrants for skipping court, he was arrested.
Police said they also found some suspected fentanyl and methamphetamine on the man when they were searching him.

A 74-year-old Raleigh Township man spent some time sobering up in police custody after he was allegedly seen yelling and "being aggressive" in Chatham.
Police said they picked him up over the noon-hour on Monday while they were following up on a call about a disturbance on Centre Street.
Officers said when they found the man, he was intoxicated and unable to care for himself, so he was taken back to police headquarters and held there until he was sober.

Man arrested for visiting woman he was banned from seeing
A 29-year-old Wallaceburg man is facing charges after police allegedly found him inside a woman's residence in Wallaceburg -- even though he had been ordered not to communicate with her.
Chatham-Kent police said they found him while they were responding to a domestic disturbance call just before 9:30 p.m. Monday.
When officers learned that the man had been bound by a probation order not to communicate with the woman or to be any place she was known to be, he was arrested.
But that wasn't the only strike against him.
Officers said the man was also wanted on an outstanding warrant for failing to attend court.
The accused was charged with one count of failing to comply with a release order and two counts of breaching a probation order.
He was taken back to police headquarters and was set to be held there pending a bail hearing.
