The Chatham Goodfellows wrapped up their final big fundraiser of the year.
Hundreds of volunteers stood in front of businesses in Chatham for street sales on Friday and Saturday, selling their newspapers for a donation.
This year almost $27,500 was donated in person and through e-transfer. That is down about $200 compared to 2021, but they did raise about $10,000 more this year during their Porchlight campaign.
All of the money raised through Street Sales goes to their "No Child Without a Christmas" campaign. Last year they raised around $215,000 in total, and they are trying to beat that they year as they expect costs to rise due to inflation.
Donations are still being accepted through e-transfer at donate@chathamgoodfellows.ca, or you can mail a cheque to Chatham Goodfellows P.O Box 114 N7M 5K1.
