The town of Dresden is coming together to ensure the community lives up to its tagline, Southwestern Ontario's Christmas Town.
The holiday season kicks into high gear Thursday when the total transformation will be complete.
"We’re so excited to keep growing and building Christmas Town," said Stuart Kiar, a member of the Dresden Shines steering committee, in a media release. "So many volunteers have come together to make this happen, and it’s really fascinating to see what’s possible when we all work towards a goal."
The Christmas Night Market returns Saturday, November 26 from 3 p.m. to 8 p.m. in downtown Dresden. It will feature nearly 100 local vendors, food trucks, live entertainment, and photos with Santa Claus.
There will also be a pop-up holiday bar for adults to enjoy a beverage.
“There will be something for everyone in Christmas Town, thanks to the hard work of community groups," said Liz Kominek, a member of the Dresden Shines committee. "We have lots of reasons to come to Christmas Town many times throughout the holiday season."
The Illumination Tour featuring homes and businesses lit up for the holidays will be back and organizers are encouraging Dresden and area residents to decorate their homes with lights.
The initiative will give residents and visitors the opportunity to drive throughout the community and enjoy the displays.
Other events planned during the holiday season include the Dresden Kinsmen Santa Claus Parade, the Neighbourhood Cup, and the IODE House Tour.
“Our community has made Christmas Town a reality," said Rose Northcott, a member of Dresden Shines.
