Littering complaint leads to drug seizure

A 40-year-old Ridgetown man has been charged with a drug-related offence after Elgin County OPP were called about a littering complaint.

Officers were called to Fourth Line in Southwold Township on Saturday.

Provincial police spoke with the occupants of a vehicle found in the area. During the investigation, OPP said officers seized a "quantity of drugs."

The driver was taken into police custody and charged with possession of a Schedule 1 substance - methamphetamine.

The accused was released from custody and is scheduled to appear before the Ontario Court of Justice in St. Thomas at a later date.
