Police remind drivers to watch for deer after weekend collision 

A local motorist is going to have an expensive repair bill after crashing into a deer early Saturday morning.

Police said they were called to the collision just after 5:30 a.m.

Nobody was hurt but damages are being estimated at $15,000.

Police are reminding the public to keep their eye out for deer from dusk to dawn and to always scan while driving.

Police investigating break-in at Wallaceburg building 

Chatham-Kent police are asking the public for tops after a building on Arnold Street in Wallaceburg was broken into sometime overnight between Thursday and Friday.

Police said several power tools were stolen from the property.

Impaired driver crashes into fence, parked trailer 

A 61-year-old Chatham man is facing charges after allegedly crashing his vehicle into a fence and a parked trailer on Colborne Street in Chatham.

Police said they received a call from a resident on the street just before 4:30 p.m. on Saturday.

Officers responded to the scene and arrested the driver for impaired operation.

He was taken to police headquarters for further tests, which revealed that the man's blood alcohol concentration was three times over the legal limit.

The man was released with a future court date.

Three Windsor residents arrested for shoplifting in Chatham  

The law has come calling for three Windsor residents accused of shoplifting at a business on St. Clair Street near Pioneer Line.

Police said they received a complaint for shoplifting just after 5 p.m. on Saturday.

Officers determined that suspects had previously attended another store and allegedly stole from there as well.

A 24-year-old woman, a 57-year-old man, and a 51-year-old man were all arrested and charged for theft and possession under $5,000.

Two of the suspects were later released with a future court date, while the third was turned over to Windsor Police because of an outstanding warrant.
