Hospice Gala raises over $98K

The proceeds have been counted, and the Chatham-Kent Hospice Foundation said it raised over $98,000 during its 5th Annual Benefit Gala last week.

The event was sold out.

The foundation raises money for the Hospice in Chatham-Kent. The Ministry of Health does not cover all the costs at the Hospice, so fundraisers like the gala are essential.

All the proceeds raised will go towards covering the ongoing operational needs at the hospice to ensure families have access to compassionate, end-of-life care at no cost to them.

“Our sincere thanks to our guests who attended, the businesses and individuals who graciously donated the many auction experiences and the generous sponsors for their support, especially our Title Sponsor Victory Lincoln," said Foundation Board Chair Randi Bokor Caron. “A special thank you to our guest speaker who generously shared their personal  experience. It really helped guests understand the impact hospice care has on our local families. Overall, it was an amazing night that demonstrated our community’s continued compassion and care for one another."

Chatham resident Evelyn Konecny  was the lucky winner of a 0.50 ct round brilliant cut canadian diamond courtesy of Mittons Jewellers in Ridgetown.

The event was held at the Chatham Armoury.
