Crossbow stolen from vehicle in Chatham 

Chatham-Kent police are investigating after a Barnett White Tail crossbow and other items were stolen from inside a car on Blossom Place in Chatham.

Police said the theft happened sometime overnight Saturday.

Break and enter in Chatham 

Chatham-Kent police are appealing to the public for tips after a door to a detached garage was kicked in on Poplar Street in Chatham.

It happened sometime between 10 p.m. on October 8 and 6:30 p.m. on October 9.

Man accused of stealing copper wire from Chatham-Kent Health Alliance 

A Chatham man is in more trouble with the police after he was allegedly caught carrying stolen copper wire from the Chatham-Kent Health Alliance on Sunday.

Police said the man was stopped just after 1 p.m. He was arrested and charged with theft and possession under $5,000.

He was released with a future court date on October 31.

Man arrested with stolen motorcycle 

A man is facing charges after he was caught driving a stolen motorcycle in the area of Richmond Street in Chatham.

Police said an officer on patrol initiated the traffic stop just after 8:30 p.m. Sunday after observing the man driving the motorcycle with no lights on.

The officer learned that the motorcycle was stolen through further investigation.

The man was arrested and charged with obstructing a peace officer and possession of stolen property over $5,000.

He was later released with a future court date on November 7.

Wallaceburg couple found together, arrested for breaching conditions 

A man and woman from Wallaceburg are facing charges after they were found hanging out together in an apartment on Wallace Street in Wallaceburg.

Police said they were called to the apartment early Sunday morning for a noise complaint.

Officers learned that the two of them were on conditions not be around one another.

The 34-year-old man was arrested for failing to comply as well as having an outstanding warrant. The woman was also arrested for failing to comply.

The man was held in custody pending a bail hearing while the woman was released with a future court date.

Woman arrested breaching house arrest 

A 21-year-old Chatham woman is back in police custody after she allegedly left a specific property without permission.

Chatham-Kent police said they found her at another residence around 2 a.m. Monday after she called the police thinking someone was banging on her door.

Police said they learned that the woman had an outstanding warrant and that she was on house arrest for another address.

The woman was arrested and held pending a bail hearing.
