Woman accused of showing up at business despite ban

A 34-year-old Chatham woman who was banned from attending a specific business in the community is facing more charges after she allegedly showed up at that same business on Saturday.

Police said once the woman was arrested and put into the cruiser, the woman began spitting on the partition and window.

The 34-year-old has been charged with failing to comply with her release conditions and mischief under $5,000.

She has been held in custody pending a bail hearing.

Weekend RIDE check results in zero arrests 

There’s some good news out of Chatham-Kent when it comes to this long weekend's RIDE check.

It’s not something you hear of often, but more than 160 vehicles were stopped October 8 and not one single driver was arrested or found to be impaired while behind the wheel.

Police and reminding drivers that RIDE checks will continue throughout the community as part of an effort to keep all drivers on the road safe.
