Construction closes Countryview Line and Center Side Road intersection

Starting Wednesday, drivers will have to take a detour around the Countryview Line and Center Side Road intersection.

The Municipality of Chatham-Kent announced in a statement that the intersection will be closed for the replacement of the Countryview Line Culvert over the Purdie Creek Drain.

The project is anticipated to start Wednesday, August 31 and is expected to be completed by November 4, 2022. The intersection will be closed to all vehicular and pedestrian traffic.

"Chatham-Kent is committed to working with Clarke Construction to maintain a safe and orderly worksite," read the statement. "All efforts will be made to reduce the impact on the surrounding areas. Construction sites have many potential hazards and extreme caution should be taken by adhering to the safety requirements and staying outside of the construction zones."

A detour will be posted to direct traffic around the site which includes: Prince Albert Road, Longwoods Road, Kent Bridge Road, Base Line, and Union Line.
