Pharmascience is recalling an opioid used to manage pain and opioid addiction.
The company said they were packaged incorrectly and could lead to an overdose. Instead of two milligrams of hydromorphone, the affected pills could contain eight milligrams.
The correct ones will be orange and have a "2" printed on one side and the letters "PMS" on the other.
The wrong ones are white and have an "8" on one side.
If you have the wrong ones, take them back to your pharmacy.
The pills were sold to pharmacies in bottles of 100 between May 2022 and August 2022.
Accidentally taking too much hydromorphone or suddenly increasing the dose could lead to a life-threatening overdose, even in those with tolerance to opioids.
Symptoms include dizziness, drowsiness, confusion, slow heartbeat, slow and difficult breathing, cold and clammy skin, seizure, coma, and possibly death.
