50/50 fundraiser for CKHA returns

A popular fundraiser in support of the Chatham-Kent Health Alliance (CKHA) is back.

Tickets for the Igniting Healthcare 50/50 FUNdraiser went on sale at midnight on Monday, May 2, with the grand prize draw taking place on Wednesday, July 13 at 1 p.m.

The 2021 winners, a group of three lifelong friends, took home over $131,000. The Chatham-Kent Health Alliance Foundation (CKHAF) said it was the third straight year that the winners took home over $100,000.

Proceeds from this fundraiser will support the purchase of two new Pulmonary Function Test (PFT) units, one for the Chatham site and one for Wallaceburg.

"PFT units are crucial in diagnosing a wide variety of respiratory and other health problems," said Bob Hockney, Chair of the CKHAF Board of Directors. "While someone is sure to win a life-changing amount of money through this fundraiser, there will be many more winners among the patients at CKHA’s Chatham and Wallaceburg sites."

Tickets can be purchased online at www.ignite5050.ca, in person at the CKHAF office at 9 Ursuline Ave. in Chatham, or at various events and locations throughout Chatham-Kent during the campaign.

The jackpot is guaranteed to be at least $15,000, the highest starting jackpot they've ever had.

The 50/50 draw is sponsored by the MCH family of companies, which includes Maple City Homes, MCH Realty Group, AgriRoots Capital Management Inc., and FamilyLending.ca Inc.
