Four arrests on warrants

Chatham-Kent police can cross four more names off of their wanted list.

Police said a 24-year-old man of no fixed address who was wanted by both CK police and OPP was arrested at around 11 a.m. Tuesday in the northeast section of Chatham.

He was arrested by officers with the municipal police force, released with a future court date, and then turned over to OPP.

A 42-year-old Howard Township woman who was wanted on an outstanding warrant was also arrested Tuesday morning. Police said she showed up at the courthouse in Chatham and was arrested after officers learned that she was wanted on an outstanding warrant.

The woman was taken into custody and was set to be held there pending a bail hearing.

A 29-year-old Chatham woman who was wanted on an outstanding warrant was also arrested Tuesday evening. Police said they picked her up at around 5:30 p.m. Tuesday and then released her with a future court date.

And a 44-year-old Chatham who was wanted by police was arrested shortly after 9 p.m. Tuesday. He was also taken into custody and then later released with a future court date.

Youth volunteers practice coastal conservation

Nine young volunteers aged 11 to 17 spent three days exploring and protecting the Lake Huron coastline during the Coastal Conservation Youth Corps' inaugural program in Grand Bend from July 21 to 23.
