Suspicious person call leads to arrest
A 39-year-old Chatham man who was already wanted by police has been arrested and charged after someone called in a suspicious person trying to enter parked vehicles in Chatham.
Chatham-Kent police said they were called to the area of Grand Avenue West near Courthouse Lane at around 11 a.m. Wednesday and found a suspect in the area.
Police said he was currently wanted in relation to two separate investigations for theft and possession of property obtained by crime and was taken back to police headquarters where he was set to be held pending a bail hearing.

Man arrested after alleged theft
A 30-year-old Chatham man has been arrested, charged, and released in connection with a theft investigation in Chatham.
Police said they arrested him after they were called to a business on St. Clair Street at around 9 p.m. Wednesday for a report of a man stealing items.
The accused was charged with one count each of breach of probation, theft, and possession of property obtained by crime and later released with a future court date.

Wallaceburg man arrested for public intoxication
A 35-year-old Wallaceburg man is in trouble with the law after an incident in a business' parking lot in Wallaceburg Wednesday evening.
Police said the man was acting out and made reference to breaking the window of a vehicle.
The accused was arrested for public intoxication and he was taken to police headquarters where he was held until he sobered up.

Police issue reminder after 911 hang up calls
Chatham-Kent police are reminding you to lock your cell phone before it goes in your pocket in order to avoid calling 911 by accident.
That reminder comes after police responded to 47 911 hang up/accidental calls over a 24 hour period this week.
Officers are also reminding you to stay on the line if you accidentally call 911 because if you hang up, the call taker will assume it is an emergency and they will dispatch police.
