Special events organizers in Chatham-Kent are being invited to attend one of three public information sessions being held by the municipality this month to get details on how to apply for a special event permit.
The municipality said with the provincial government lifting restrictions, special event applications are increasing.
At the public information meetings, officials said event organizers will be able to meet with staff, get paper copies of the special event application, and learn where they can find electronic versions for download and printing purposes. A presentation on the application process will also be given and a question and answer session will be held.
The municipality noted it reviews an average of 210 special event applications a year but during the pandemic, special events had to either be cancelled or modified to meet Ontario COVID-19 regulations and this is a chance to get back on track.
The public information meetings are as follows:
March 29 from 7-9 p.m. at the Thames Campus Arena in the Red Line Room
March 30 from 6:30-8:30 p.m. at the Blenheim Arena in the Blue Line Room
March 31 from 6:30-8:30 p.m. at the Wallaceburg Memorial Arena in the Jack Backus Mezzanine Room
