Man arrested for pair of incidents 

A Wallaceburg man will have to answer to multiple charges after police responded to two separate incidents in the same day that he was allegedly involved in.

Around 2 p.m. Wednesday, officers responded to a theft complaint at a business on McNaughton Avenue in Wallaceburg.

Police were provided with a description of the suspect and were able to locate him a short distance away with the stolen property allegedly in his possession. As a result, the 25-year-old was arrested for theft and possession of stolen property.

During this time, police in Wallaceburg also responded to a residence on Camp Street for reports of mischief to two vehicles. Officers learned that the same man had allegedly attended the residence earlier in the day. According to police, a loud crashing noise was heard and the man was seen walking away from the vehicles.

He was arrested once again and additionally charged with two counts of mischief. He was transported to police headquarters and was held in custody pending a bail hearing.

Man arrested for public intoxication

A man had to spend some time in police custody after allegedly causing a disturbance in a cab in Chatham.

Officers were called to a parking lot on Grand Avenue West around 10:30 p.m. Wednesday to assist a cab driver with an unruly passenger. According to police, the man was allegedly being uncooperative with the cab driver and refusing to leave the vehicle.

Officers arrived and learned the man was allegedly intoxicated and unable to care from himself. He was arrested for being intoxicated in a public place. He was transported to police headquarters and held until he was sober.

Theft of bike leads to arrest

A 40-year-old Chatham man will have to answer to a pair of charges after a bicycle was reported stolen.

According to police, officers responded to the Walmart in Chatham around 6 p.m. Wednesday for reports of a bike being stolen from the store.

Officers were given a description of the suspect and were able to locate him, along with the bike. The 40-year-old Chatham man was arrested and charged with theft and possession of stolen property. He was released with a future court date.
