Police investigate bomb threat at Wallaceburg District High School 

Chatham-Kent police are investigating a bomb threat that was made against Wallaceburg District Secondary School.

Police said officers were called to the school at 1 p.m. on Friday. The school was evacuated to ensure the students', staff, and public safety.

Later when it was determined safe to do so, police said they along with staff from the high school conducted a detailed search of the building and found no explosive materials.

Through investigation police quickly determined the identity of the youth that made the threat on social media. The youth was arrested and charged accordingly.

The youth was later released with a future court date.

Wallaceburg man charged with impaired driving following crash 

A 31-year-old Wallaceburg man is facing an impaired driving charge following a collision on Dufferin Avenue in Wallaceburg on Friday.

Police said officers were able to determine the driver was impaired at the time of the collision. He was arrested and later charged with operation while impaired and 80 plus.

He has a future court date on March 23, 2022.
