U of W, St. Clair College vie for e-sports title

Gaming students at the local university and college will compete for e-sports supremacy Thursday night.

E-sports teams from the University of Windsor and St. Clair College will participate in a Rocket League matchup. It is expected to be a clash of e-sports powers, as the St. Clair Saints Gaming team is number-one in the National Association of Collegiate Esports (NACE). Lancers Gaming is ranked number two.

Rocket League, described by creator Psyonix, is described as "soccer, but with rocket-powered cars". The object is to use a vehicle to hit a much-larger ball, in a game that combines elements of soccer and a demolition derby. The game was introduced across various videogame platforms in 2015.

The match gets underway at 7 p.m. and can be seen live via live stream on Twitch.
