Man accused of harassing former co-worker

A 58-year-old Chatham man has been arrested after he allegedly harassed a local woman he knows.

Chatham-Kent police said they arrested him after learning Thursday morning that the man had been harassing the woman, who was also a former co-worker of his.

The accused was charged with one count of criminal harassment and later released with conditions and a future court date.

Police make arrest after chasing down stolen vehicle

A 32-year-old Dawn-Euphemia Township man is facing several charges after officers chased down a pickup truck that had been reported stolen from Thamesville.

Police said the brown 2002 Ford pickup truck was reported stolen on Wednesday and police spotted it driving on Zone Road 4 in Thamesville Thursday afternoon.

Officers followed the vehicle until the driver allegedly took off into a field and then fled on foot.

At that point, the driver allegedly tried to get away from police but they found him a short distance away.

The accused was charged with flight from police, dangerous driving, possession of stolen property, failing to comply with a probation order, and two counts of driving while suspended.

He was taken into custody pending a bail hearing.

Family dispute leads to arrest, charges

A 17-year-old boy is facing charges after police were called to a family dispute at a residence in Chatham Thursday afternoon.

Police said when they arrived, they learned a teen in the home was causing a disturbance.

He was charged with assault with a weapon and was later released with conditions pending a future court date.

Man arrested after police find stolen vehicle

A 32-year-old Chatham man has been arrested and charged after police found a stolen pickup truck in the parking lot of a Chatham apartment building.

Police said the 2017 Ford F-150 was reported stolen in Wheatley on February 4, 2022 and officers recovered it in the parking lot of an apartment building in Chatham late Thursday afternoon.

With the help of the Street Crimes Unit, investigators were able to track down a suspect in the case and arrested him.

He was charged with possession of stolen property and failing to comply with a release order and was set to be held in custody pending a bail hearing.
