Two arrests after shoplifting complaint at the LCBO
A 26-year-old Chatham man and a 29-year-old Merlin woman are facing charges after police were called to look into a shoplifting complaint at an LCBO store in Chatham.
Chatham-Kent police said they were called to the store at around 8 p.m. Thursday, adding that they found the two suspects a short distance away.
They were both charged with possession of theft and possession of stolen property.
Police said the 29-year-old Merlin woman was also charged with possession of stolen property, trafficking stolen property, and break and enter in connection with a break-in at Access Storage on Richmond Street in Chatham that was reported on January 26.

Wanted woman allegedly caught out past her curfew
A 28-year-old Chatham woman who was already wanted on an outstanding warrant is in more trouble with the law after she was allegedly caught out past her court-imposed curfew.
Police said the woman was arrested early Friday morning on Park Avenue West in Chatham.
She was charged and later released with a future court date.

Check on suspicious driver turns up impaired driver
A 23-year-old Ridgetown man is facing an impaired driving charge after he was allegedly caught driving under the influence of alcohol early Friday morning.
Police said they pulled the man's vehicle over at around 2 a.m. Friday and took him back to police headquarters for breath tests before he was charged.
He was later released with a future court date.
