COVID hospitalizations trending lower

The number of COVID-19 hospitalizations locally continues to drop.

There are 35 COVID-positive patients at Bluewater Health, down from 39 on Wednesday, and 55 reported on Monday.

The Sarnia hospital said there are currently five COVID patients in the intensive care unit.

Lambton Public Health Thursday reported 87 new lab confirmed cases, and 92 resolved cases, lowering the number of known active infections by five to 379.

There are 15 active outbreaks, up one from Wednesday.

Since March 2020, there have been 8,582 confirmed cases, 8,097 recoveries and 106 related deaths in Sarnia-Lambton.
