Five people are facing drugs and weapons-related charges after police searched a home on Bluewater Line in Wallaceburg over the weekend.
Chatham-Kent police said they made the arrests after finding about $3,500 worth of suspected fentanyl, methamphetamine, and lysergic acid while they were executing a search warrant on Saturday.
Officers also seized three sawed-off firearms, some ammunition, cell phones, digital scales, and a debt list.
A 43-year-old Wallaceburg man was arrested and charged with drug possession for the purpose of trafficking along with three firearms-related offences and three counts of failing to comply with his release conditions.
A 41-year-old Walpole Island man was charged with three counts of drug possession, three counts of firearms-related offences, and six counts of failing to comply with his release conditions.
Three other people -- a 45-year-old Wallaceburg woman, a 41-year-old Walpole Island woman, and a 31-year-old Walpole Island woman -- were all charged with two counts each of drug possession and three counts each of unauthorized possession of a firearm.
All five of the people who were arrested were later released pending future court dates.
