Erie Shores Healthcare is implementing a no visitors policy starting on Thursday with only limited exceptions.
Starting at 12:01 a.m. there will be no visitors allowed in an effort to stop the spread of COVID-19.
Limited exceptions include one visit by one visitor to a patient who is actively dying, one support person for a woman in labour, one parent or guardian of an ill child or youth, and one support person for a patient with dementia or cognitive impairment.
A translator may also be allowed but only when necessary because the hospital uses medical translation services.
