Czechia answered back with three goals in less than five minutes.
Defenseman Owen Power scored his first goal of the game just 23 seconds after Czechia's third goal of the period.
Donovan Sebrango closed out the first by scoring Canada's third goal with less than 30 seconds to go.
Power completed the first hat trick of the tournament in the second period. His second came while Canada was playing with a two-man advantage and the third came during the same power play, while five on four.
Canada continued its scoring campaign in the the third period.
Defenseman Olen Zellweger scored Canada's sixth goal on the power play.
Power was named Canada's player of the game after making history as the first Canadian Defenseman in the World Juniors tournament to score a hat trick.

The tournament is being held in Alberta, with groups split between Edmonton and Red Deer, for the second year in a row. The decision was made to allow Canadian fans to be in attendance, as the 2021 championship was played in a bubble due to COVID-19.
This is the 15th time Canada has hosted the World Juniors.
Team Canada's next game is against Austria on Tuesday, December 28.
