Man charged with theft

A 29-year-old man was arrested after an investigation into a theft complaint made in Chatham.

A coat and a battery booster pack were reported as stolen from a vehicle.

The man was charged with theft under $5000.

He was released pending a court date in January 2022.

Break and enter in Chatham

Chatham-Kent Police were called to a business on Richmond Street in Chatham on Christmas Eve.

Police said the rear bay door of the business was smashed by a rock which was followed by the theft of electronics and numerous keys.

The total value of the theft was estimated at $4,000.

Break and Enter in Blenheim

Chatham-Kent Police responded to a business on Allison Line in Blenheim on December 24.

A storage unit was reportedly broken into, police are continuing to investigate whether property was stolen.

The total value of damage was approximately $3,000.
