Brochu headed to World Juniors

Tilbury native Brett Brochu's amazing season just keeps getting better.

The 19-year-old goaltender has been named to Canada's roster for the 2022 IIHF World Junior Championship. Brochu, who plays for the London Knights, was one of three netminders selected.

Brochu has had a great start to the OHL season. He's currently ranked first in the league in Save Percentage, Goals Against Average, and Wins.

Unfortunately, his Knights teammate Luke Evangelista was one of the final cuts and will be returning to London.

Will Cuylle, a forward for plays for the Windsor Spitfires, was also named to the final roster on Sunday.

Canada's National Junior Team will head to Banff, Alberta for training camp before heading to Red Deer and Edmonton for three pre-tournament games.

The World Juniors will take place in Edmonton and Red Deer Alberta from December 26, 2021 until January 5, 2022. Canada will open the tournament on Boxing Day against the Czech Republic at 7 p.m. ET in Edmonton. Canada will also play Austria on December 28, Germany on December 29 and Finland on December 31 to wrap up preliminary-round action.
