Police seize fentanyl, arrest four alleged drug dealers in Wallaceburg

The crackdown on illegal drug activity on Walpole Island has led to four more arrests.

Ontario Provincial Police said some of their officers teamed up with members of the Chatham-Kent Police Service to search a residence on Dufferin Avenue in Wallaceburg Thursday morning and found approximately $5,000 worth of suspected fentanyl.

A 30-year-old Sarnia woman, a 33-year-old Wallaceburg woman, a 35-year-old Wallaceburg man, and a 53-year-old Wallaceburg man were all arrested and charged with drug possession for the purpose of trafficking.

They were all later released with conditions and a future court date.

Police said the search warrant stemmed directly from investigations that were initiated after a State of Emergency was declared by Walpole Island First Nation.

Lambton County OPP said they will continue to work with the police service at the First Nation to address the opioid-related crisis there and they are asking anyone with information that may assist them with that to contact the OPP at 1-888-310-1122 or *OPP (677) on your mobile phone.
