Dreaming of a Blue Christmas fundraiser to support Alzheimer Society

A Chatham-Kent based real estate agency is showing support for people living with dementia by organizing a special fundraiser for the Alzheimer Society of Chatham-Kent.

Nest Realty is looking to spread some holiday cheer through their Dreaming of a Blue Christmas raffle fundraiser.

"Over 3,000 Chatham-Kent residents are currently affected by dementia and care partners can find the experience of caring for someone with dementia to be isolating," Nest Realty said in a release. "It reassures those care partners that they are not alone, especially during this holiday season which can be a difficult time for many people, including those living with dementia and their care partners."

Nest Realty is raffling off three stocking-stuffed prizes with a value of over $3,000. The stockings include a wide range of local gift certificates, items from Wooly Doodle, Centro, Retro Suites, Links of Kent and more.

There is also a chance to win a Christmas tree from Sloan’s Christmas Village during an early draw on December 8.

The draw for the three main prizes will take place on Monday, December 20 during a live social media broadcast on Nest Realty’s Facebook page.

Tickets are being sold for $10 each or three tickets for $20. You can buy the tickets by:

• Contacting the ASCK office at 519-352-1043 with a credit card

• E-transferring to ASCK Finance Coordinator at ecataldo@alzheimerchathamkent.ca with the password "bluexmas" in lowercase lettering. E-transfers must include name, home address, phone number, email address and the number of requested tickets.

• Depositing payment in ASCK’s mailbox at 36 Memory Lane in Chatham including the same information for an e-transfer
