Two men face domestic-related charges
Two local men have been charged with domestic-related offences in separate incidents.
Chatham-Kent police said Monday an argument between a 36-year-old Wallaceburg man and his wife turned into a physical fight.
According to police, this was not the first incident of domestic violence during their relationship.
The accused was arrested and charged with criminal harassment, two counts of assault and two counts of uttering threats. He was also arrested on an outstanding Highway Traffic Act warrant.
The man was held in custody pending a bail hearing and released with a future court date of September 28.
Chatham-Kent police also said a 40-year-old Highgate man has been arrested after he allegedly assaulted his girlfriend at a camping ground near Blenheim.
Police learned that the man also allegedly threatened the girl and damaged her phone.
Officers located the man and he was arrested and charged with assault causing bodily harm, uttering threats, and mischief under $5,000.
He was held in custody pending a bail hearing.

Woman charged with being intoxicated in a public place
A 21-year-old woman has been charged with being intoxicated in a public place after police responded to a family dispute in Wallaceburg around 10:30 p.m. Tuesday.
Police said the woman left the home following an argument with family members. She was located in a nearby park and taken into custody as she was unable to care for herself.
Police said she was released when sober.

Speed enforcement around schools in Chatham
Police said 15 motorists were stopped and charged with speeding as members of the traffic unit conducted speed enforcement in community safety zones around schools in Chatham.
According to police, three motorists were charged with illegally parking in the area of schools.
"We would like to remind everyone that officers will be monitoring community safety zones as kids return to school to ensure their safety," said police. "Please watch your speed - slower is safer."
