Body found in Lake Erie west of Port Glasgow

The body of a second individual from an overturned boat investigation from earlier in August was found Saturday.

Just before 11 a.m., the OPP was alerted to a report of a body floating in the water of Lake Erie.

Members of the OPP Chatham-Kent Detachment, Elgin County OPP Marine Unit and the Canadian Coast Guard Auxiliary Unit responded to the call.

It was determined that a fisherman was approximately 7.5 miles south west of Port Glasgow in Lake Erie when they located the deceased and immediately contacted police.

Officers attended the area and confirmed that the deceased was a missing 57-year-old individual from Windsor that was involved in an incident on August 6.

The investigation is continuing and the OPP is thanking all partners and members of the public for their help in the investigation.
