Sarnia-Lambton recorded a drop in the COVID-19 incidence rate last week, after inching higher at the end of July.
Lambton Public Health reported Wednesday that the rate of infection per 100,000 population was 2.3 for the week of August 1 to 7, down from 3.8 the week before.
The positivity rate also dropped from 0.82 per cent to 0.34 per cent. The health unit said 882 people were tested for the virus last week.
There was one new confirmed case reported Wednesday, for a total of 3,644 since the start of the pandemic. The number of cases considered resolved stands at 3,571, and the active case count increased by one to five.
Bluewater Health had one COVID-positive patient in hospital.
