60-year-old man dies in industrial accident

The Ministry of Labour is investigating a fatal workplace accident in Chatham.

The Ministry of Labour said the victim fell removing an antenna from an aerial antenna tower on Indian Creek Road West Thursday afternoon.

A 60-year-old Chatham-Kent man fell from a television antenna and sustained life-threatening injuries. He was transported to the local hospital where he was pronounced deceased.

The Ministry of Labour was contacted and has taken over the investigation.

The ministry says the worker was the sole proprietor of Al the Antenna Guy.

This is the second fatal workplace accident in Chatham in the past week. On Monday, the Ministry of Labour was called in to investigate after a 44-year-old Chatham man died after falling off a ladder while working on Park Street.
