Man arrested after police respond to break and enter in progress

A 33-year-old man has been arrested and charged after being caught in the middle of removing items from a shed at Earthworks Garden Centre in Chatham, early Sunday morning.

Police said the man attempted to run from the area but couldn't get away.

As a result, the man was charged with break and enter and possession of stolen property under $5,000.

He was brought to police headquarters where he was lodged and held pending a bail hearing.

Pair of men arrested on outstanding warrants 

A 55-year-old Chatham man who was found to have an outstanding warranty was arrested by police on Orchard Heights Drive.

The man was held in custody pending a bail hearing.

A second man was located on Primrose Lane in Chatham, where he was arrested for an outstanding warrant.

The man was released on an appearance notice with a future court date.

Wallaceburg man arrested for outstanding domestic-related charges

A 30-year-old man from Wallaceburg was arrested for outstanding charges related to a domestic incident.

The man was held in custody pending a bail hearing.

RIDE program leads to licence suspension 

Chatham-Kent police conducted a RIDE program at the intersection of Park Avenue and Lacroix Street in Chatham on Saturday evening.

Police said a total of 160 vehicles were checked and two roadside breath tests were administered.

One driver was issued a three-day licence suspension.
